Manchester United has sent a warning message to touts ahead of the club’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against League Two side Newport County.
The game takes place on Sunday at Rodney Parade, with kick-off scheduled for 16:30pm.
In a statement issued on Thursday evening, Manchester United claim they have been made aware of a number of touts advertising ‘electronic ticket’ availability for the match.
The club’s statement read: “Please be assured that all tickets for this fixture have been allocated to eligible supporters who were successful in the ballot.
“All tickets issued will be paper tickets and all tickets will be collected, in person, by fans showing photo ID.”
The same statement stresses that the club is committed to eradicating ticket touts and will continue to sanction any identified individuals who are selling tickets at inflated prices or transferring tickets outside of official processes/channels.
It’s a weekly occurrence on Facebook groups that we see fans getting ripped off and charged way over the odds.
