Erik ten Hag has provided an update on his Manchester United squad ahead of Saturday’s match at St. Mary’s Stadium against Southampton.
United are looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, while Southampton have not picked up a point since the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign.
The long trip to Southampton will be for an early kick-off, meaning fans will be getting up in the early hours in the morning to set off on their travels.
Ten Hag has assessed the squad ahead of the game and revealed that new signing Manuel Ugarte will be available after featuring for Uruguay during the international break.
Meanwhile, Luke Shaw and Rasmus Hojlund will miss out as they continue their recovery from injury.
“Rasmus Hojlund and Luke Shaw, they are progressing very well, but are not ready for this game,” Ten Hag said at his press conference, as quoted by ManUtd.com.
“Manuel Ugarte, I think we all have seen he played for Uruguay. He returned this afternoon, he was the only player who returned today.
“All the other players returned yesterday, so he is available for this game.”
Southampton will be without Gavin Bazunu and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
