The Moroccan international spent the 2023-24 season on loan at United from Fiorentina. Amrabat hasn’t had the most dazzling season, but he played a key role in helping the Red Devils beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley. After the match, the 27-year-old admitted he would like to stay longer.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport, he said: “Do I already know what I will do next year? No. We will discuss. Staying is certainly an option. I think the season was very difficult. For Manchester United it must be much better, and also for me personally. We will discuss. Manchester United is the biggest club in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here? But all parties have to be happy with each other, so we’ll sit down and see what happens.

Manchester United, Amrabat can stay

Uncertainty reigns within the club, with several players and the future of manager Erik ten Hag up in the air. Amrabat has played 21 times in the Premier League this season but has never been a regular starter and has had to be moved back to left-back due to the injury crisis. The club has an option to make his move permanent, but fans are yet to see the player who stood out at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Nothing will be decided immediately but several departures could free up funds for the Mancunian club.
