It has been reported that some of Manchester United’s players are worried about Erik ten Hag’s demands in training.
According to the Manchester Evening News, a group of Manchester United players believe the Dutchman is demanding too much from his squad in training and is also to blame for the club’s injury crisis. The club suffered from a large number of injuries throughout the season, particularly in defense, where the club struggled to make up for their deficiencies.
Nine players missed the Manchester derby the Red Devils lost to City on Sunday, according to the report which details 47 separate cases of injury and illness since the start of the season. Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot are the only outfield players who did not miss the match due to injury. In the 3-1 defeat against Manchester City, the Dutchman also had to replace Marcus Rashford and Jonny Evans, with both players having problems during the match.
Too many injuries
As a reminder, United were excluded from all European competition in December after finishing last in their Champions League group, which explains why the February schedule was relatively light, with only six matches.
The Red Devils will enjoy another break before facing Sean Dyche’s Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday March 9. They will then have another week to recover before facing Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final on March 17.
