Manchester United: This flop that hangs on despite everything

Antony’s agent has made it clear that the Brazilian has no intention of leaving Manchester United amid talk of his departure from Old Trafford.

ESPN reported on Saturday that the Red Devils would be willing to let Antony leave on loan this summer if a club agrees to cover the player’s £70,000-a-week wages. However, his agent Junior Pedroso confirmed that the player has no intention of leaving Old Trafford during that period.

The Brazilian has failed to live up to expectations at the Premier League club, who he joined for a huge fee in the summer of 2022. However, despite his form struggles over the last two campaigns, manager Erik ten Hag recently said he believes the player can still contribute to the club.

His plan? Stay

Speaking to Fabrizio Romano, Pedroso said: “I see reports about a potential loan exit. Antony’s plan is clear: Manchester United. He wants to stay, he only thinks about Man United. We have already spoken to the club about it.”

After missing the last two pre-season friendlies through injury, the winger will accompany the Manchester United squad to the United States, where they are due to play a series of friendlies.
