Lucas Bergvall is a man in demand currently, with a host of top clubs across Europe, including FC Barcelona, eyeing his signature.
The 17-year-old midfield sensation currently plies his trade in Sweden for Djurgardens, but an exit seems a given either this month or in the summer.
Clubs such as Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Eintracht Frankfurt have shown strong interest, but Barcelona appear to be the frontrunners for his signing as they are planning an official offer soon and the player wants to join the club.
Manchester United meddling
But, according to a fresh update from 90 Min, Manchester United have emerged onto the scenes as suitors for Bergvall and are planning to hold talks with Djurgardens over a deal for the midfield sensation.
At the same time, the Premier League club are also due to meet the 17-year-old’s representatives to discuss a possible move.
Bergvall had a trial at Manchester United a few years ago and trained with their youth sides while he is also known to be a supporter of the Premier League club.
The Red Devils want to sign young talents who can be developed into stars for the future, with Bergvall emerging as a target, with the report stating that he might cost around €8-10 million.
Bergvall has agreed to join Barcelona
However, as per reports carried by SPORT, Bergvall has already agreed to join Barcelona, subject to an agreement between them and Djurgardens.
The 17-year-old is willing to accept the offer put on the table by the Blaugrana, but an agreement needs to be struck between the two clubs for the deal to go ahead.
Barça’s plan is to close the deal for the teenage sensation now but allow him to stay at Djurgardens on loan until June.
Whether Manchester United’s meddling changes anything remains to be seen.
