New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim will be using the international break to plan for the busy winter period.

United travel to Ipswich Town when the internationals come to an end, and Amorim will be desperate to start where Ruud van Nistelrooy left off – with three points as the Reds look to climb up the Premier League table as they currently sit 13th.

The 39-year-old has left his role at Sporting CP to take charge at Old Trafford. It marks the end of a successful spell with the Portuguese champions who remain unbeaten in the Primeira Liga this season.

Sporting also managed to beat Man City 4-1 in a memorable Champions League tie, with United transfer target Viktor Gyokeres scoring a hat-trick to stun Pep Guardiola’s side.

Amorim takes over a side struggling to win football matches, which led to the sacking of Erik ten Hag. He will get time with some players during the international break but will have to wait for most of his key players to return before he has his full group together.

With that in mind, eyes will be on Amorim to see which players he favours and those he doesn’t quite rate or have in his plans.

Eriksen has made 13 appearances already this season and registered seven goal contributions.

According to GiveMeSport, United are set to listen to offers for experienced midfielder Christian Eriksen in January.

This means Eriksen could be put up for sale in the summer after being linked with a return to Ajax in the summer.

The Denmark international recently spoke out about his future and admitted that the club have yet to initiate talks over a contract renewal.

Eriksen will be out of contract in the summer and that means he will be agree to discuss terms with foreign clubs in January.

United would obviously prefer to cash in on Eriksen in January than lose the 32-year-old on a free, which in reality, is the most likely outcome.
