Manchester United added five new signings to the squad over the summer and said goodbye to several players who were deemed surplus to requirements.

It was INEOS’ first transfer window in charge of football operations at United, and the changes were mostly positive.

Joshua Zirkzee signed from Bologna before Leny Yoro completed a move from Lille.

Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui signed from Bayern Munich, while Manuel Ugarte joined from Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day.

The summer transfer window has only been closed for just over a week but that has not stopped the media from linking United with new players.

Germanijak in Croatia clam United are very interested in Dinamo Zagreb playmaker Martin Baturina ahead of the January transfer window.

The Athletic previously claimed that Dinamo wanted £17m for Baturina in the summer, with Arsenal showing an interest in the player at the time. It was suggested that they had fears over Baturina’s lack of physicality in the Premier League.

United were planning to scout Baturina against Poland on Sunday and will watch him in action again against Haiduk Split on Friday. The only problem at the weekend was Baturina didn’t feature against Poland as he was an unused substitute.

However, Baturina played against Portugal last week when he featured in a side opposing Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

The 21-year-old has made 126 appearances for Dinamo, scoring 16 goals and recording 32 assists. He has started the current season strongly with four assists in the first four games.
