Manchester United veteran Jonny Evans has publicly backed Erik ten Hag to turn the club’s form around and has praised his positive character.

After a disappointing start to the season, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is under pressure to find results and dramatically improve the club’s form.

The Red Devils currently sit 14th in the Premier League table with only eight points out of a possible 21.

The former Ajax coach will hope he can start to turn things around at Old Trafford with a victory against Thomas Frank’s Brentford this weekend.

Frank has recently praised Ten Hag and dismissed the criticism of the Dutch manager.

Man United veteran Jonny Evans has backed Ten Hag and has praised the Dutchman’s character.

Last time out against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, Evan made a shock start but impressed with a man-of-the-match performance in a 0-0 draw at Villa Park.

Speaking to SkySports, Evans said: “He’s a very strong-minded man & I admire him for that.

“He is very principled in the way he wants to work.

“He very rarely changes & you know shows a real sort of strength & he believes in who he is & who we wants to be.”

“I admire him for his strength and courage”
