Manuel Ugarte is travelling to Manchester to undergo medical examinations ahead of a transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester United.
The Uruguay international has been United’s primary midfield target this summer, with multiple alternatives mooted but none deemed as good.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Ugarte this morning, with his favourite ‘here we go’ catchphrase. He claims a deal has been sealed between the two clubs after personal terms were agreed on in July.
United will pay €50m upfront plus €10m in add-ons.
Ugarte has now broken his silence with a cryptic post on social media network X, as seen below, using the eyeballs emoji to suggest something is happening.

The Uruguay international is set to become United’s fifth signing of the transfer window, after already signing Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
PSG have already signed a replacement for Ugarte and bringing in Joao Neves from Benfica.
