In the shortest time, new Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has made it crystal clear that he’s not a man to be messed with.
Compared to the almost jovial relationship that predecessor, Mauricio Pochettino, had with his players, it’s a marked change for the dressing room to have to deal with.
The Italian would appear to simply not have time for pleasantries and is laser focused on getting the job done at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca set to move highly-rated centre-back on in January
Whether he’s learned to work in the manner he has in West London from his time with Pep Guardiola is a moot point.
The fact is that the Blues are the first team that he’s ever managed in a top-flight, and it’s clear that he’s trying to make up for his relative lack of experience by ruling with an iron fist.
There’s simply no love lost between Maresca and his players, and if they’re not at 100 percent in every training session and match, they can consider themselves persona non grata as far as the manager is concerned.

Indeed, Chelsea would appear to have been by far the busiest Premier League club over the last few transfer windows.
When January comes around, we can be assured that a similar situation will occur, and as Fichajes note, Pochettino favourite, Axel Disasi, is expected to be moved on.

The 26-year-old cost a not insignificant €45m, but already appears surplus to requirements for Maresca, who evidently prefers a centre-back pairing of Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana.
If the Blues can recoup most of what was paid for him just over a year ago, it would seem to be a no brainer for the club.
