EXCLUSIVE: Margo’s Got Money Troubles has rounded out its cast with Lindsey Normington (Anora), rapper, singer, songwriter Rico Nasty and Michael Workèyè (My Lady Jane) in recurring roles. The Apple TV+ series, starring Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman, hails from David E. Kelley and A24.
In Margo’s Got Money Troubles, based on Rufi Thorpe’s novel, Fanning stars as Margo Millet, the child of a Hooters waitress, Shyanne (Pfeiffer), and an ex-pro wrestler, Jinx (Nick Offerman), who becomes pregnant after a brief affair with an English professor, Mark (Michael Angarano), at the local junior college she attends. Now, at 20, Margo is alone with an infant, unemployed, and on the verge of eviction. When her estranged father Jinx shows up on her doorstep and asks to move in with her, she agrees in exchange for help with childcare. Margo starts an OnlyFans as an experiment and soon finds herself adapting some of Jinx’s advice from the world of wrestling.
Normington will portray Rose; Nasty will play KC and Workèyè will play JB.
Cast also includes Thaddea Graham, Marcia Gay Harden and Greg Kinnear.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles is produced for Apple TV+ by A24. Kelley serves as writer and showrunner on the eight-episode series. He and Matthew Tinker executive produce for David E. Kelley Productions alongside Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures; and Kidman and Per Saari of Blossom Films. Pfeiffer, author Thorpe and Eva Anderson also executive produce.
Normington stars in Sean Baker’s Anora, which won the Palme D’Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and Best Picture at the 2025 Academy Awards. Next up she will star in the David Spade & Theo Von comedy feature, Busboys, and will guest star on Season 4 of HBO’s Emmy-winning series Hacks. She has previously guest starred on CBS’ All Rise and HBO’s The Idol. Normington is repped by Authentic Talent & Literary Management. Nasty is repped by WME.
Nasty gained a local, underground following with SoundCloud singles such as “iCarly” and “Hey Arnold”. After her successful singles such as “Smack a Bitch” and “Poppin” in 2018, she signed with Atlantic Records where she released her sixth mixtape, Nasty, also in 2018. That was followed the following year by collaborative mixtape Anger Management with Kenny Beats. Nasty’s debut studio album, Nightmare Vacation, was released in December 2020. Rico’s seventh mixtape, Las Ruinas, was released in July 2022.
Workèyè, whose credits include My Lady Jane and This Is Going To Hurt, most recently wrapped TV miniseries The Stolen Girl. He’s repped by Gersh.
