Margotton without “Liza”!

Before returning to the Blues in March alongside Bixente Lizarazu, for the Nations League quarter-final against Croatia, Grégoire Margotton will commentate on another French team on the TF1 group channels.

Grégoire Margotton is not done with handball. The one who forms the essential commentator duo with Bixente Lizarazu during the French team’s matches on TF1 was mobilized a few weeks ago for the women’s handball Euro. The sports journalist thus commented on four matches of Sébastien Gardillou’s Bleues, until the semi-final narrowly lost against Denmark (22-24), on December 13. It will return to action in 2025 with the World Handball Championship (January 14-February 2). The TF1 group has in fact acquired the TV rights to certain French matches.

Thus, the third and final match of Guillaume Gille’s Blues during the preliminary round in Croatia, against Austria, will be broadcast on January 18 on TMC. Ludovic Fabregas and his teammates will probably have done well during their first two meetings against Qatar and Kuwait, on the 14th and 16th. The TF1 channels will then offer a France match during the main round and then, in the event of qualification of the Blues, the quarter-final, the semi-final and the final of the reigning world vice-champions! The entire competition will be followed on beIN Sports channels.

Margotton with a Barjot

After the former French international Nodjialem Myaro (151 caps from 1996 to 2013), Grégoire Margotton will this time team up with Philippe Gardent, the pivot of the “Barjots” bronze medalists in Barcelona and former coach of Chambéry and PSG.

After Porec (on the Adriatic Sea), France will enter group 2 of the World Cup, played in Varazdin, in the north of Croatia, with Hungary, the Netherlands, North Macedonia and Guinea as possible opponents. If everything goes as planned, the Blues will play their quarter-final as well as their potential semi-final in Zagreb. Margotton could then travel to Croatia while he is expected on Thursday March 20 in Split for the Nations League quarter-final of Didier Deschamps’ French team.
