Mark Briscoe is ready to embrace his role as a locker room leader now that he’s the new Ring of Honor World Champion.

All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor’s Mark Briscoe was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio. When asked what impression he wants to leave on younger talents now as the leader of the locker room, Briscoe said he hopes to teach the next generation to embrace the aggression of a fight when they’re inside the squared circle.

“I’ll tell ya, I had that match on HonorClub, the Proving Ground Match with Griff Garrison, last night, and he’s a perfect example of a guy who is the future of wrestling,” Mark Briscoe began. “He’s got so much potential.

“And I got a chance to speak to him after the match. I said, ‘Look, brother, crank that shit up. You got it. Now you just need that confidence.’ You just need to go out there, and you need to go 100 miles an hour. You know what I mean? Like, maximize your potential. Just don’t hold back.

“I want you to hit me hard; I want you to swing me around the ring. Whatever, like just the aggression. Like this is a fight; this is a fighting sport. This is a performance of what we do; we’re portraying a fight. So it’s just the aggression, and that’s the main thing that I really want the next generation to embrace that.

“Because now, and there’s not a thing wrong with it, I love watching matches with high spots and flips and acrobatics. But I feel like just a little bit here lately, we’ve got a little bit lost when it comes to just the aggression and just the raw base element is that we’re fighting. So that’s what I want to kind of pass on to these kids.”
