One of the top tag teams in the world of professional wrestling is the Briscoe Brothers. Current ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe and his late brother, Jay Briscoe, are multiple-time ROH World Tag Team Champions. They have captured the tag team titles in multiple promotions.

During a recent interview with Adam Barnard of Foundation Radio, Mark Briscoe praised his late brother Jay Briscoe. Despite feeling like he would never be as good as his brother, Mark strives to come close to it and hopes people enjoy his work.

“I want people, to put it in a nutshell, I want to do good enough and I want people to say, ‘Man, I enjoy this guy so much.’ That they go back and look up the Briscoe Brother stuff. Because, I as good as, I might ever be, I don’t ever think that I’ll be as good as Jay Briscoe was.

“I think Jay Briscoe was the most believable, credible professional wrestler, maybe ever. I mean, there’s guys that you could put on that level, but for somebody that I… He really makes me think this is real. And he’s really trying to hurt the other dude and he’s really… There’s nothing that’s play about this. There’s nothing that’s not legit about this when you look at Jay Briscoe. And that’s just something that I can try my best. And sometimes I can do it with a good deal of success. But I can never do it on the level that he could.”

Mark Briscoe would have loved for the Briscoe Brothers to have been wrestling on the big national stage

Briscoe then continued by stating that he would have loved for the Briscoes to have competed a lot more on the big stage so that they could have done a lot more memorable matches.

“I’m just guessing here. But I think, if we had as a unit been on a national stage for an extended period of time, then I think there would have been a lot of matches and a lot of things that had happened that people would have enjoyed very much. Much like the FTR thing. But now that it’s now that I’m doing the singles thing. I’m flying solo, but I’m not because I always got Jay right here with me and it’s almost like I’m incorporating more and more of his style. I feel like naturally it’s more of that’s coming out more the intensity, more of the just, Jay Briscoe just killer instinct. But now it’s just like I want now that I do have this stage, this national stage,” Mark Briscoe said.
