Premier League legend Alan Shearer has offered his insight and understanding into what’s gone on with Raheem Sterling at Chelsea as he could now be set for a transfer out of Stamford Bridge.
Sterling was left out of Enzo Maresca’s squad for yesterday’s game against Manchester City, and CaughtOffside understands the England international could be set to make way as Joao Felix comes in to replace him in attack.
Shearer, meanwhile, says that he was told that Sterling was informed about the situation on Friday, though he criticised the 29-year-old for releasing a statement via his camp yesterday after the team news for the Man City game came out.
The former Newcastle United and England striker also took aim at the situation at Chelsea, however, as he expects there will surely be more incidents like this to come this season due to the inflated squad at Stamford Bridge.

“I’m told that he’s trained all pre-season and was told on Friday that he’s probably best off looking elsewhere for a club because they’ve brought other people in in that position,” Shearer said on The Rest Is Football podcast.
“To have been told that on Friday, that would be pretty frustrating. Mark my words, this is not going to be the first case of player unrest at Chelsea.
“Enzo Maresca is going to have to deal with problems like this all season.”

Things are certainly looking pretty chaotic at CFC right now, with a huge turnover in players and staff once again this summer, and with the team still not looking to have improved much as City won comfortably in yesterday’s game.
There will also surely be other players to deal with as there are simply too many to fit into a starting XI and the substitutes’ bench.
