Martha Stewart and Ina Garten are making headlines. The pair go way back, as two women who took the cooking and hosting worlds by storm in the 1990s. While Ina was working and living in the Hamptons, Martha purchased a home there in 1990. Later that year, Martha‘s magazine published its first ever copy, and included a write up on Ina, who was a local fan fave at the time. Years later, Martha‘s production company ended up getting Ina a Food Network show. The show didn’t pan out, and Ina instead ended up on the Food Network in the early 2000s, hosting her show, the Barefoot Contessa. In a new profile for the New Yorker, Ina recalled how she and Martha eventually lost touch. Keep reading to find out more… The report shared, “In Garten’s telling, she and Martha Stewart lost touch after Stewart began spending more time at a new property in Bedford, New York.” Martha‘s version is different. For Ina‘s profile, the mag spoke with Martha, who said, “When I was sent off to Alderson Prison, she stopped talking to me. I found that extremely distressing and extremely unfriendly.” If you don’t know, Martha spent a few months in prison for an insider trading scandal in the early 2000s. The mag then added that Ina denied this version of accounts. Then, Martha‘s publicist, Susan Magrino got involved, telling the publication that Martha was “not bitter at all and there’s no feud.” In 2022, Martha seemed to publicly throw shade at Ina over an Instagram comment (and Reese Witherspoon is involved).
