Martha Stewart is flipping the script on her reputation this holiday season.
After her Netflix doc portrayed Stewart as an ice-queen boss who berates her staff over trifles, we hear she’s gifting her workers with time off and turkeys for Thanksgiving. Stewart appeared in conversation with Newsday TV’s Elisa DiStefano at the Long Island LitFest on Wednesday, where she revealed her holiday plans and goodies she left for her staff.
Newsday TV host Elisa DiStefano interviewed Stewart at LitFest on Long Island. Instagram/@LongIslandLitFest“She gave them a choice of apple pie, pumpkin pie and pecan pie,” a source at the event told Page Six.
“She left baskets of potatoes… for all of her employees to take home to their families,” they added.

Stewart is promoting her 100th cookbook. Instagram/@marthastewart48Warhol muse, Robert DuPont, who worked for Stewart’s catering business in the Seventies, was in the crowd and hoping to catch up with his old boss. DuPont told us they locked eyes before she left the stage, but security blocked him from seeing her after the event.
Netflix premiered a documentary on Stewart’s life last month. Instagram/@marthastewart48A defiant DuPont told security, “I want to see my old friend Martha, who was my first employer,” he said.
“[Security] asked, ‘What your name?’ And two minutes later he said, ‘Sorry bud, she’s in the car’ and bailed,'” DuPont said.
Maybe she’ll make up for it by sending him a turkey.
