Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

According to a new report from Screen Daily, filming has officially begun on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Alien: Romulus 2

During a recent interview with Empire Magazine (via Fangoria), Fede Alvarez promised his sequel to Alien: Romulus will “go into uncharted waters,” and finally reveal “a place in the Alien franchise we’ve never seen before.”

Rodo [Sayagues, co-writer] and I are working on that right now […] We’re excited about where it can go. We’ve almost checked all of the boxes of things that I want to see [in Romulus], and brought back a lot of the things I hadn’t seen in a while. Wherever we go now, we can go into uncharted waters […] I think it’ll be so exciting to go with characters you know from this movie, to a place in the Alien franchise that we’ve never been before, and to discover things that you’ve never seen before.

The Avalanche

Deadline reports Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes) and Lou Taylor Pucci (Evil Dead) are attached to star in The Avalanche, a horror film from first-time director Johnny Coffeen in which “two former lovers [are] forced together by an avalanche that cuts them off from the world. As the weight of their shared history begins to crack the thin veneer of civility, strange apparitions stir in the dark corners of their shelter. Reality and paranoia bleed together as buried secrets claw their way to the surface, leaving them to question whether the true danger lies outside the cabin—or within.”

The Monkey

Speaking with Empire, director Osgood Perkins admitted “a couple of people” explode in The Monkey, and squirt “far more” blood “than is really in a human body” when they do.

If you’re going for comedy then you’re going for extremes. Not subtlety. We are guilty of putting far more blood in our human bodies than is really in a human body. When someone explodes in this movie—and a couple of people do—there’s a lot of mess. All the death set-pieces were hard to do. They all have a Rube Goldbergian connectivity—this happens, then this happens, then this happens…

I honestly feel f*****g great about [how different The Monkey is from Longlegs]. I can’t think of another morbidly surreal horror comedy that’s also heartwarming and redemptive and stars a bona-fide movie hunk. That’s the best news I can offer to people who liked Longlegs—we make all kinds. Why would anyone want to be fed the same meal every day?

Vision Quest

Deadline reports Faran Tahir will reprise his role as Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar–the leader of the 10 Rings from the original Iron Man–in Vision Quest.

Creature Commandos

During a recent interview with Comic Book, Maria Bakalova stated she hopes to continue to “be a part” of James Gunn’s DCU going forward, despite the ultimate fate of Princess Ilana in Creature Commandos.

I’m trying to take it one step at a time, because you never know what’s going to happen at the end. My dream is to be able to work with James again and again and again, do the rest of my life. I do want to be a part of this new DC universe, because knowing that he is behind it. I just have incredibly big hopes for it, and Creature Commandos is evidence of that.

I mean, if I’m able to play this character in the future, I will definitely do it. If I’m able to play something else with James in charge, I will definitely do it. It’s really my dream to just be a part of this team.

Common Side Effects

Finally, a new clip from Adult Swim’s Common Side Effects introduces DEA agents Copano and Harrington.
