Maryse discusses why she has stepped away from WWE in recent years, as she has chosen her kids over the business.

Former WWE Divas Champion Maryse has only wrestled in a few matches since 2017. She had a brief return run in late 2021, and she teamed up with The Miz to face Beth Phoenix and Edge at WWE Royal Rumble 2022. She has not wrestled since, but she has attended some shows.

Speaking with PEOPLE at the WWE RAW on Netflix premiere, Maryse stated that she missed WWE, but she chose her kids.

“As much as we love what we do, the kids are now priority and number one,” Maryse said. “So we have to prioritize them in every single aspect. … Especially as a woman, it’s difficult with two kids. I can’t travel the way [I used to] … And then I don’t want to.”

“I want to be there for my kids. And that’s what makes me happy,” she adds. “I want to go to bed at night and know that I’m in the same house as my kids, so as much as I love the business — I miss it — I choose my kids.”

The Miz On New Potential Reality Show

The Miz and Maryse previously starred in Miz & Mrs. At the RAW on Netflix premiere, The Miz spoke with PEOPLE and teased that they could be in another show soon.

“Well, I think we can’t really … We can tease it,” he said. “So maybe. Maybe you’ll hear about some things. Keep your eyeballs open for a new show with the Miz and Maryse.’
