The debate around a return of Mason Greenwood is raging at Manchester United, especially since the statements of Jim Ratcliffe, new boss of the club, last week. “He’s a Manchester United footballer, so the answer is yes, we have to make a decision, that’s quite clear. He is on loan, obviously. We have one or two players we have to deal with and we have to make a decision, we will. But the process will be about understanding the facts, not the hype, and then trying to make a fair decision based on advice. Could he play well for Manchester United, and would we be comfortable with that, and would the fans be comfortable with that? In other words, the new management of Manchester United is considering giving the young striker a second chance.

He shines at Getafe where he is on loan. 7 times a scorer and 5 times a passer in 25 matches in all competitions with the Azulones, the Englishman returns to simple pleasures, like playing again, having been absent from the field for a year while the courts were investigating him for domestic violence and attempted of rape. He was finally released and left to be forgotten in Spain. His performances caught the eye of bigger La Liga clubs, like Atlético de Madrid and he seemed to like it. According to The Athletic, Greenwood does not want to return to Old Trafford for several reasons. His presence at the club would be a permanent debate and he also felt that he had not been sufficiently supported during his legal setbacks.
