According to our information, Mathys Angély will sign a contract with Wolfsburg until 2029. The 17-year-old central defender, a real gem for the Girondins de Bordeaux, was notably followed by several Premier League and Ligue 1 clubs, but he will finally join Germany. He should pass his medical examination quickly, before committing for five years with the club from Lower Saxony.

The French U17 international had notably made a name for himself by appearing five times in the club’s jersey in Ligue 2 last season. Despite an extension until 2028 with Bordeaux a few weeks ago, he had made his departure from his training club official after the latter’s relegation to National 2. After successfully passing his medical, the defender will therefore join the Wolfsburg club, which could at the same time lose another French defender, Maxence Lacroix, who is being closely monitored by Crystal Palace. A well-considered choice for the player who wanted playing time to progress.
