Matt Cardona says a bout between him and Mick Foley would be the biggest match in independent wrestling history.
Mick Foley has said that he wants to lose one hundred pounds and wrestle one last Death Match. He recently explained his mindset surrounding this quest.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, “The Deathmatch King” Cardona said that he’s been openly “politicking” to try and face WWE legend Mick Foley He said that it would be the biggest match in the history of independent wrestling.
“It’s no secret I’ve been politicking for this match,” said Cardona. “Go back to the Hammerstein ballroom a couple years ago, I was wearing a flannel that said ‘F— Mick Foley’. If he wants a deathmatch, it would only be fitting to have one against the deathmatch king. It would be the biggest match in the history of independent pro wrestling.”
“The Deathmatch King” has been vocal about wanting to beat Foley in a Deathmatch to prove he’s the more hardcore wrestler. Time will tell whether he will get the chance to do so.
