Matt Cardona was revealed as Chris Jericho‘s opponent for Final Battle tonight on Ring of Honor on HonorClub.
During “TV Time” with Chris Jericho tonight on HonorClub, Matt Cardona made a surprise, unannounced appearance and challenged Jericho to a match for the Ring of Honor World Championship.
While Cardona is no stranger to appearing on All Elite Wrestling over the years. His last appearance for the company saw him answer Adam Copeland’s open challenge earlier this year. But tonight was his official Ring of Honor debut.
The segment ended with Cardona knocking Jericho’s stupid hat off his head and leaving the ring. You can check a portion of the segment in the embedded video below.
Cardona’s appearance comes hot off the heels of Ricky Starks being pulled from future appearances at Game Changer Wrestling, a company Cardona has had quite the history with.
Teases of this match first took place on social media back on November 28 when Cardona took exception to Chris Jericho calling himself the King of New York.
LOL. Chris, I love ya and I respect the hell out you…but King? Of New York?!
I am the King of your cruise…
I am the Deathmatch King…
If anybody is the King of New York…it’s me.
And aren’t you Canadian? https://t.co/ulKZ95L9RE
