Matt Riddle Captures First Championship After Exiting WWE

Matt Riddle’s run in WWE was marred by controversy due to his behavior outside the ring, ultimately resulting in his unexpected departure last year. Now, Riddle has won his first championship following his WWE release.

After his WWE firing last year, The Original Bro has been competing in various promotions since January. This included Major League Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling and more.

The Combat 1 Wrestling promotion took to their Instagram and officially announced that Matt Riddle is the new 1 World Champion, after defeating Atrocity Krule during their recent event. This marks Riddle’s first title win following his WWE exit.

”Ladies and Gentlemen, you may know him as “The King of Bro’s” but now he is known as “The King of Combat” Your NEW 1 World Champion Matt Riddle!

It was added that he will have his very first title defense against former WWE Superstar Austin Arieson on April 11th at The Rollerama Zap Zone of Brighton.

Matt Riddle is also set to challenge Hiroshi Tanahashi for the NJPW World Television Championship at the upcoming New Beginning in Sapporo show on February 23rd. We’ll have to wait and see if Riddle will be able to dethrone Tanahashi for the title.
