Matt Riddle is no longer in WWE, and the Original Bro is not afraid to talk about his time in the company. It appears that Riddle is going to keep speaking out, but it also appears that things have also smoothed out a bit in one rocky relationship.
Ringside News reported that Matt Riddle’s WWE release was linked to over two dozen backstage incidents. He had beef with Goldberg and Brock Lesnar before his main roster call-up even happened.
Riddle threw some big shade at Goldberg, someone he had buried in interviews prior to signing with WWE. The two were able to spend some “quality time” together later on.
Matt Riddle also rubbed Brock Lesnar the wrong way by publicly politicking for match against the Beast Incarnate. Riddle was then told to stop tweeting at main roster talent like that while he was in NXT, because there were no such plans for a match, and Lesnar didn’t like it. In 2020, Riddle and Lesnar had words backstage at the Royal Rumble.
While speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Matt Riddle addressed his beef with Goldberg. It seems that things have died down at this point.
“Bill Goldberg, we had our heat, and then we were on stuck a plane together, coming back from Saudi. And we bumped shoulders a couple of times, and I wouldn’t say we’re the best of friends. But I think we are on a better field now. In wrestling, you’re gonna have to work with people, and like, we have to walk a fine line and talking trash and getting heat and stirring the thing because that’s the thing we do. We’re trying to make you feel something we’re trying to make you entertained. We want you to think it’s real. Like, that’s kind of what I tried to blur the line. And unfortunately, sometimes I’ve blurred the line too much, you know?”
Goldberg and Riddle were apparently able to settle things, but the same might not be true for Brock Lesnar. Then again, the Beast Incarnate has so much money that nothing really likely bothers him much.
We will have to see what Matt Riddle does next in his pro wrestling journey. For all we know, a WWE return is possible, because everyone seems to go back eventually.
