Matt Riddle To Miss Upcoming Independent Shows After Uber Accident

Matt Riddle got banged up in an accident, and he has been forced to miss two upcoming shows.

In a tweet, Matt Riddle stated that he would be missing the shows he was scheduled to be at over the weekend. He wrote that his Uber got into an accident, and he had to go to the hospital. Riddle wrote that he had a concussion and some bumps and bruises, but he would be fine.

Just wanted to share with everyone that I won’t be making tonight’s show or tomorrow’s show, unfortunately on my way to the airport my Uber got into an accident and I had to go to the hospital and get checked out. In recent months, Matt Riddle has been wrestling for MLW, and he has been active on the independent scene. He last wrestled at MLW Battle Riot VI on June 1, where he won the Battle Riot. In doing so, he earned a shot at the world title.

Riddle also had a brief run with NJPW. He won the NJPW World Television Championship at NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo but lost it at NJPW Windy City Riot.

WWE released Riddle, a former WWE United States Champion, in September 2023 during a round of cuts. He previously said that getting fired was a relief. Check out his comments here.
