Last night on AEW Dynamite, the International Champion Orange Cassidy was featured in the main event. His opponent was the Undisputed Kingdom’s Matt Taven in a Texas Death Match. The Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champion shared his thoughts on the match.

This battle between the two was a brutal one. Both wrestlers were busted open. Taven mentioned that this match was to prove his doubters wrong.

Matt Taven also claimed the entire match was just a setup to soften Cassidy before he defends his AEW International Title against Roderick Strong at the Revolution Pay-per-view on March 3rd.

“That was for all you haters. All you doubters. All of the people that have never even seen me wrestle and want to get on the internet and say what they think they know about me. And there’s a reason why the last 15 years I have gone around the world and said, ‘He is I, and I am him, and I’m Matt Taven.’ And you just saw the tip of the iceberg. You are just scratching the surface of what Matt Taven has to offer here in AEW.

“But I have to talk about that corny Melvin, Orange Cassidy. What an idiot. Did he not realize that was a total setup? I was just softening him up for March 3rd Revolution when this man, this man Roderick Strong, a wrestling legend is going to become the new International Champion. This is just what we do. All the people that want to say whatever they want about Matt Taven, I could care less. Cuz it is only these guys right here [The Undisputed Kingdom] that I care about. As long as I have them, the Undisputed Kingdom is here to stay,” Matt Taven said.
