Maxxine Dupri initially started as a manager and slowly became an active wrestler. One of the moves that became a talking point in the days to come was her unique way of execution of her using The Worm as a signature move.
While speaking on the Insight With Chris Van Vliet podcast, Dupri opened up about how she came up with the Worm. Prior to her WWE days, she had done The Worm in reverse. Thus, she was very confident about doing it on WWE TV.
“Me and my mom went on Below Deck: Mediterranean in 2021. It’s a TV Show about the crew who work on the boat. And every episode is new guests. So we were guests on two episodes. And I was feeling good you know? Got the cocktails flowing and I was like, I should do the worm. So, I did the worm backwards. That is my claim to fame. My good moment. When WWE was like, ‘Hey we want you to do the worm.’”
When she practiced the move, she realized how hard it really is.
“I was like, ‘Oh, no problem. I’ve literally done it on TV before. I’m a star worm doer. Don’t even worry.’ I didn’t realize how much harder it is to do it forward. We’re in the ring and I’m rehearsing it. And I literally cannot do it. My arms are not strong enough to push myself up. I’m flopping on my knees so hard. And they are like, ‘You just got to do it. It’ll be funny if it is bad. Like, don’t even worry. Just do it,’” Maxxine Dupri said.
