Mayu Iwatani made a strong statement against her IWGP Women’s Championship challenger “Timeless” Toni Storm prior to their title match.

STARDOM held an online press conference for their upcoming Nagoya Golden Fight event this Saturday, October 5. Tam Nakano will also defend her World of Stardom Championship against NEO GENESIS’ Suzu Suzuki at the event. The white belt is also on the line as Natsupoi defends the Wonder of Stardom title against her former Donna Del Mondo ally Thekla.

When asked for a comment on her upcoming defense, IWGP Women’s Champion Mayu Iwatani promised that she will secure a clean three-count over three-time AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm. Being fully aware that Toni is an international star at this point in her career, Mayu looks to capitalize on this opportunity to show international fans why she is the rightful owner of the IWGP belt.

Noting that the world will be watching their title match 10/5 at Nagoya Golden Fight, IWGP Women’s champ Mayu Iwatani issues a promise to Toni Storm: A clean 1,2,3 so the world knows exactly why Mayu wears the gold. #STARDOM

“Timeless” Toni Storm ends their portion of the press conference with her signature catchphrase, ultimately capping it off by throwing her shoe at Mayu Iwatani. A confused Iwatani asked STARDOM President Taro Okada, who was seated next to her, if she was to take the shoe home with her.

This IWGP Women’s Championship match will mark Mayu and Toni’s first singles match since 2018. Both women shared a rivalry during Toni’s prior run in STARDOM as she dethroned Mayu Iwatani for the World of Stardom belt upon the latter sustaining an injury.
