Ramon Calderon, former president of Real Madrid, spoke about the future arrival of Kylian Mbappé with the Merengue.

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon says it’s no surprise that Kylian Mbappé wants to join the Spanish giant.

The PSG star is set to announce his commitment to Real Madrid at the end of the season, having already indicated that he was leaving the Ile-de-France outfit. For Florentino Pérez’s predecessor, it would be logical.

“At Real, Mbappé will grow even more”

On BBC Sport, Calderon said: “Real Madrid offers these players not only money, because they can get it in other teams, but also glory, titles, collective and individual awards, the Ballon d’Or…. This is important because the image of players can be very important to the rest of the world. When they sign for Madrid, Madrid gives them a lot in return.”

“I know that Mbappé is a very well-known player already, but when they come to Real Madrid, their image grows much more than if they go to another club. It’s my opinion, Calderon continued.. That’s what I told Cristiano Ronaldo when I signed him in 2008. There are very big clubs in the world, but Madrid bring something special to the players. We now have an incredible stadium. The fans support the club but they are also very, very demanding, that’s how we built the legend.”
