Kylian Mbappé is at the origin of an internal war at Real Madrid, with club executives believing that Los Blancos should not pursue the PSG striker, FootballTransfers understands.

Out of contract at the end of the season, Mbappé will be available on a free if he does not sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 club. He has been constantly linked with a move to Los Blancos for years, with Real Madrid being the main competitor in 2017 when PSG recruited him from Monaco. Additionally, his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo in his youth led him to be an admirer of the Bernabeu team, but the Frenchman’s dream of playing in the club’s famous white jacket could be dashed.

Some of the most experienced members of the Real Madrid board of directors are therefore opposed to the signing of the Bondynois. The media FootballTransfers claims that “ the most mature and wisest people in Madrid » believe Napoli striker Victor Osimhen represents a better bet for the club.

Those executives feel Osimhen is a player closer to the style of Karim Benzema, who won the Ballon d’Or in his final season at the club before making a surprise move to the Saudi Pro League. Furthermore, Osimhen is more suited to the way Real Madrid play football and the club’s profile than Mbappé, who dangled a potential free transfer to the Blancos 18 months ago before signing a new deal with PSG.

These senior Bernabeu officials believe the money reportedly spent on Mbappé, who commands a huge salary and massive potential signing bonuses that likely exceed most transfer fees Real Madrid have ever paid, would be better invested in a transaction for Osimhen.
