At a press conference on Friday, Carlo Ancelotti was asked to react to the sequence that went viral in which Luis Enrique severely reframes Kylian Mbappé.

This Thursday, the Spanish channel Movistar+ broadcast on social networks an extract from the second episode of the documentary dedicated to Luis Enrique. In this video we can see the Spanish technician giving a tough speech to Kylian Mbappé, whom he criticizes for a lack of investment on the defensive level.

“I read that you liked Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan grabbed all his teammates by the balls and defended like a son of a bitch, had launched Luis Enrique to Kylian Mbappé before the quarter-final second leg of C1 against Barça.

You must set this example. (…) You are a phenomenon, a world-class player, no doubt about it. But that’s not enough for me. A real leader is someone who can help you even if he doesn’t score. If you set an example for others by going to press, you know what we’re going to get? A damn… team machine! I want you to leave here through the front door. In attack, I have nothing to tell you. But you have to become the best player in history while defending. That’s a leader, that’s Michael Jordan. »

Ancelotti: “The defensive aspect is always collective and not individual”

A sequence that provokes many reactions. And which did not escape the Spanish journalists… Passing in front of the media this Friday, Carlo Ancelotti was invited to give his opinion on Luis Enrique’s reprimands towards his new number 9, with a small tackle in passing to his PSG counterpart.

“Enrique’s sequence with Mbappé? I don’t like to pass judgment on another coach. The defensive aspect is always collective and not individual”replied Carlo Ancelotti, who therefore does not seem to completely agree with the Parisian coach.
