After the acquisition of SM Caen by the Kylian Mbappé clan, the DNCG has not taken any measures against the Normandy club. The new era can begin.

The good news keeps coming for Stade Malherbe de Caen. While Nicolas Seube’s men have just raised their heads in Ligue 2 by stringing together two consecutive victories, the Normandy club has received the verdict from the DNCG concerning its takeover.

The financial policeman of French football has announced

“the lack of action taken with regard to the club by the DNCG following the change of majority shareholder.”

This indicates that the new owners of SMC will be able to implement their strategy without financial constraints during the next transfer window.

This is very good news for Kylian Mbappé and his clan, who bought 80% of the club’s shares via their investment fund Coalition Capital. On the financial side, the concern came from the structural deficit which exceeded 9 million euros for the 2022-2023 season. But the DNCG clearly trusts the Mbappé clan and president Ziad Hammoud to put the Normandy club back on the right track. The mission can really begin.
