Placed on the transfer list and forced to train on the sidelines of the group led by Roberto De Zerbi, Chancel Mbemba has been suspended by OM.

The torch is burning between Chancel Mbemba and OM. Counted among the undesirables since the arrival at the helm of Roberto De Zerbi, like Jordan Veretout, Samuel Gigot or Pau Lopez, the Congolese rock finds himself suspended by the Marseille management.

The information was reported on Tuesday evening by RMC Sport, which reported a concern about the player’s behavior towards a “member of the management team close to Pablo Longoria and Mehdi Benatia”. The sanction would therefore have been immediate.

An increasingly contested framework

Between Chancel Mbemba and the Marseille management, relations have deteriorated over the months; and the person concerned has definitely alienated his management recently by rejecting transfer offers deemed correct by the Marseille club.

It is now a given that the interested party will no longer wear the colors of OM. Arriving in the summer of 2022 from FC Porto, Chancel Mbemba won over the supporters during his first season, quickly proving himself indispensable to the group then coached by Igor Tudor. Less visible during the last season, he will have played 85 matches in Marseille, for 13 goals scored.
