Former NXT interviewer McKenzie Mitchell has landed a new role in the wrestling world.
Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced that McKenzie Mitchell will be their backstage correspondent at their Forged in Excellence event on October 19 & 20. Mitchell commented on the news by saying that she was excited to step back onto a backstage set.
WWE previously released Mitchell in December 2023. She has been busy with other projects ever since, including “The Last Match: A Pro-Wrestling Rock Experience.”
McKenzie Mitchell On Potential TNA Return
Mitchell previously worked for TNA/IMPACT Wrestling before she joined WWE in 2019. Speaking with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, she commented on potentially returning to the company.
“It would be a homecoming if I did come back to IMPACT,” Mitchell said. “A ton of my friends still work there — Deonna Purrazzo, Jordynne Grace, Gail Kim. I absolutely love Gail Kim. We still keep in contact and just randomly will message occasionally. So that would be really fun. I think if a unique situation presented itself to where it worked out with IMPACT, I could certainly see myself going back for a couple gigs. I just think we’ll have to figure out when and if it makes sense for me in the path that I’m on in 2024.”
