McKenzie Mitchell, known for her role as a host on WWE’s media platforms and NXT, announced on December 1, 2023, that she had been released from the company. She has kept herself busy with other projects and companies since then but has now addressed returning to WWE again.
In an interview with XeniaDidThat, McKenzie Mitchell revealed her interest in returning to WWE in the future. She reflected on her time with the company, mentioning that she hadn’t achieved certain milestones, like experiencing WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble, or working on major shows like Raw and SmackDown. Mitchell expressed a desire to return if the opportunity arises, wanting to accomplish those goals.
“I’ve said this, and I think it’s so cliche, but it’s so true. Never say never. For me, I didn’t get to check some things off my list in WWE. I wanted to have that WrestleMania moment of my own. I think it’s important to think about. I think [interviewers] work just as hard. So for me, I didn’t get to tick those things off of my list, of WrestleManias, Royal Rumbles, SmackDowns, Raws, being on tour. So for me, I’d love to go back if that door still remains open.”
Since her WWE exit, she has made a return to the wrestling world, serving as the backstage correspondent for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s “Forged in Excellence” event in October 2024.
Even Shawn Michaels was caught off guard by Mitchell’s release. Only time will tell whether McKenzie Mitchell will be able to make her way back to WWE somewhere down the line, as fans feel she more than deserves to return now.
