Meiko Satomura, who is still under contract with WWE, made an appearance at a DDT Pro Wrestling event….on a train.
The translated caption for the appearance states:
“The first ever “Toden Pro Wrestling” is currently underway!
Next up to take on the challenge was WWE SUPERSTAR MEIKO SATOMURA, who was challenged to a match by Funky Kato.
This tournament will be streamed on WRESTLE UNIVERSE on July 1st!”
Satomura’s last match in WWE was on NXT Roadblock in March, 2023. She faced Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Title in a losing effort. Satomura is a former and last NXT UK Women’s Champion that she held for 451 days until it was unified. She is only one of four women to ever hold that title after Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm, and Kay Lee Ray (Alba Fyre).
Satomura has won many championships throughout her tenured carrer including being the first woman to win the KO-D Openweight Championship in DDT Pro Wrestling. She’s also the inaugural Sendai Girl’s Women’s Champion and a former World of Stardom Champion in 2015 before dropping the belt to Io Shirai (IYO SKY).
