2 What do you call a clapback when it’s not back at anything? Because it kind of comes across as just waving one’s hands trying to get attention!
Melania Trump took to her X (Twitter) account on Wednesday morning with a message for all the haters out there! She’s proud to have done nude modeling! She posted:
“Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work? The more pressing question is: Why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot?”
Yeah! Except… There were no haters. No one was coming after her, no one was criticizing this.
The media? Frankly they haven’t mentioned Melania much at all! Despite the fact Donald Trump is in the news every hour of every day, she seems to be such a small part of his life at this point — and totally uninvolved in the 2024 presidential campaign — that they haven’t been talking about her at all! They certainly haven’t mentioned her nude photos! You’d be forgiven for having no idea Melania ever was a nude model!

Heck, we can barely remember a single news outlet even mentioning it back in the day! For those who missed that blip, the New York Post (a famously conservative tabloid) found the pics and published them.

They claimed the pics had been taken in 1995 when Melania was about 25. They had reportedly first appeared in a lesser known French men’s magazine, a now-defunct publication called Max Magazine in January 1997, the year before she met Trump.
The odd thing is, it just wasn’t even a big story then. It’s not something Democrats ever tried weaponizing. For the most part, progressives don’t shame people for nude modeling, porn, sex work, all that stuff. Remember, we’re the ones who are for a woman’s right to choose!
No, the only times we’ve even seen it brought up are when Republicans want to do things like ban porn. (Seriously, that’s part of Project 2025 — criminalizing porn. We’re not kidding! Look!) It’s only at those times that people point out to people like the Trumps and Amber Rose how they’re being huge hypocrites.
But again, we’re not against the pics. It’s the hatred we’re against. We’re the side still in favor of women having more rights, not fewer. So the question is… who is she fighting against??
It’s unclear who she was lashing out at, but still she argued with… some phantom strawman who accused her of doing porn, we guess? Because she made clear her softcore magazine photos were art! Over images of classical Renaissance paintings and sculptures, she said:
“Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body? Throughout history, master artists have revered the human shape, evoking profound emotions and admiration. We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self expression.”
BTW, her husband’s party has actively been trying to ban and cover a lot of that kind of art, showing the human form. LOLz! Just some more of that grand ‘ol hypocrisy…

Is anyone else confused as hell? Again, NO ONE WAS TALKING ABOUT THIS! Seriously, did you even remember this story? That these photos had come out?
We have to figure part of this so-called defense is a good offense. Which is to say a good game plan… for selling books. The former First Lady is coming out with a memoir titled Melania this October. Maybe this is just to get people talking about her? And thinking about her journey from the world of semi-scandalous modeling to Donald Trump’s penthouse to the West Wing?
The only other option we can think of is… she’s on the defensive because something else is about to come out. We can’t imagine what that would be at this point.
