Melissa Barrera & Sinclair Daniel Among 5 Joining Peacock’s James Wan/Simu Liu Project

Melissa Barrera (In the Heights), Sinclair Daniel (The Other Black Girl), Brian d’Arcy James (Spotlight), Mark O’Brien (City on a Hill), and Kathleen Chalfant (Wit) will star in the Untitled James Wan & Simu Liu series for Peacock as series regulars.

The upcoming espionage techno-thriller series is set five minutes into the future when first-generation American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Liu) realizes his brain has been hacked, giving the perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears. Caught between his shadowy agency and the unknown hackers, he must maintain a performance 24/7 to flush out who’s responsible and prove where his allegiance lies.

Barrera will play “Michelle,” a deceptive character who will keep everyone guessing; Daniel will play intelligence officer “Parker,” who gets swept up into a new world she must figure out quickly; James will play “John Moira,” a boss and mentor who is not afraid to make tough decisions; O’Brien will play “Cobb,” an ambitious intelligence agent; and Chalfant will play “St. George,” a quiet leader focused on the long game.

Thomas Brandon (Legacies) serves as creator, writer, and executive producer alongside co-showrunner and EP, Jennifer Yale (See, Outlander). James Wan (The Conjuring Universe, M3GAN), Michael Clear (Archive 81, M3GAN) and Rob Hackett (Archive 81, I Know What You Did Last Summer) are executive producers for Atomic Monster with Liu also EP’ing. Mark Winemaker and Jet Wilkinson will also executive produce, with Wilkinson attached to direct the first two episodes.
