Former FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid striker Memphis Depay still does not have a club despite the end of the transfer window.
The Dutchman terminated his contract with Atletico a year earlier in June, but has yet to find a new home.
As revealed by journalist Matteo Moretto, Memphis has attracted interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, but the dossier has not yet been studied. There was also interest from Serie A, but the Italian dossier has since faded. Sevilla is now linked to Memphis, and discussions have indeed begun, but there is a certain distance between the demands of the Dutch star and the initial pretensions of Sevilla, as Moretto explains.
Depay on the road to La Liga return
Nervionenses could be in the market for an additional striker this season, with Lucas Ocampos reportedly being targeted by Rayados de Monterrey in a last-minute transfer.
If the Argentine winger leaves, it could leave a big hole in Sevilla’s squad, and Depay is one of the few options Sevilla have to strengthen. Former Sevilla sporting director Monchi was interested in the former Lyon man as an option when he left Barcelona.
