Mercato OM: A first departure finally made!

The winter transfer window is starting to get agitated for OM. While the club seeks to reduce its workforce and reduce the list of its undesirables, a first departure has been made official. This season, under the orders of Roberto De Zerbi, he was only entitled to 22 minutes of play, spread over two entries at the end of the match against Brest and Montpellier. With strong competition for his position and few short-term prospects, his departure seemed inevitable. But it is with the Anderlecht reserve, in Belgian D2, that he will continue his career for the moment, a choice which marks a clear step backward in his progression.

A degreasing operation in progress

This departure could only be the first in a series for OM, which is seeking to strengthen itself while reducing the payroll. Several players are already on the list of potential starters. Among them, Lilian Brassier, Chancel Mbemba and Amine Harit, who could be pushed out if interesting offers arrive.

As for Elye Wahi, the striker who arrived with great fanfare this summer, he is the subject of speculation about a possible early departure. Although his future is not yet sealed, his name is circulating among the players who could leave the club if OM receives a satisfactory offer.

A necessary strategy

For OM, the departure of Enzo Sternal and those to come are part of a logic of rebalancing. By reducing its squad, the club hopes to free up space for possible arrivals and give De Zerbi the necessary tools to move up the Ligue 1 rankings.
