Mercato: Real Madrid throws in the towel for two star recruits!

The summer is going to be lively in Madrid, where we are preparing to welcome Kylian Mbappé, after so many frustrated attempts in recent years. The Bondynois will not be the only new offensive face of the Merengues next season, since the nugget Endrick will also land in the Spanish capital. Then, other recruits were expected, particularly in the defensive sector.

If we use the past tense, it’s because obviously, the Madrilenians have finally decided to abandon two very serious avenues so far. As indicated in the Cadena COPE, the management of Real Madrid has paralyzed the operations of Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro. The first had been followed for years already, and his contractual situation, with a lease which expires in 2025 at Bayern, made him a perfect target for this summer. As for the Frenchman, it was more of a target for the future, but we had to act quickly given the interest of several big European clubs in his services.

Places are taken

Why such a turnaround? Well in the case of the Canadian, there are two reasons. First, Ferland Mendy demonstrated that he was at the level during important matches this season. Then, the second: the Merengues will trust Miguel Gutierrez, a full-back trained at the club who is coming off a perfect season in Girona and on whom the Madrilenians have a buyout option of 8 million euros. Mendy and the Spaniard will be the left-back pair next season, and so the doors have closed for Davies.

As for Leny Yoro, there are also two explanations. First, the explosion of Rafa Marin, central defender loaned to Alavés this season, who should therefore return to occupy a role in the rotation, especially if Nacho leaves. Then, its price. LOSC would still be too greedy according to the media, which however does not reveal the amount requested by the Northerners for their nugget. Either way, it’s good news for PSG…
