Mercedes Moné confirmed that the planned collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion is no longer happening.

The TBS Champion previously revealed that she wanted to get into the ring with the rapper, potentially for a wrestling match in AEW.

However, Mercedes Moné’s dream is now in tatters. Megan Thee Stallion debuted her song “Neva Play” as the new theme song for Smackdown. Due to her connection with WWE, the chance to work with AEW seems to be out the window.

Mercedes Moné spoke with Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM, where she was asked about the status of her working with Megan Thee Stallion.

The TBS Champion confirmed that it was no longer happening, due to her doing Smackdown’s opening theme song. She also revealed that the plan was to do a match with the rapper.

“Not right now. Unfortunately, no.” Mercedes Moné said when asked if the collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion was still happening. “Something fun [was supposed to happen.] Either a tag team match, a wrestling match—something. I would like for her to either wrestle with me or wrestle against me. But there were talks of doing something fun with her.”

“Now, she’s doing the opening theme song for SmackDown, which is awesome brand-wise. She did a song with WWE, and I’m with AEW, so I just think we can’t do anything together. She’s not my best friend or anything, but if she wants to be my homegirl, absolutely! We’ve only met a couple of times, but she’s really awesome.” Mercedes Moné added.
