Javier Saviola, who will lead the Argentina team during the 2024 Olympics, once again expressed his desire to see Lionel Messi come to Paris this summer.

Lionel Messi soon back in Paris? After leaving the French capital last summer to join MLS and the Florida franchise Inter Miami, the eight-time Ballon d'Or could return to play in the City of Lights this summer.

Indeed, it is not excluded to see the former Barcelona player participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with Argentina. The Espoirs coach, Javier Saviola, has once again expressed his desire to call up the native of Rosario.

“We hope he can play with the selection”

“If Messi wants to come to the Olympics in Paris, that would be exceptional. When Messi is in the team, the eyes of the world are fixed on the Argentine selection. We hope he can play with the selection”, declared the former Barcelona and Monaco striker at the microphone of Génération After on RMC following the draw for the groups for the Olympic tournament. But beyond convincing Messi, Saviola will have to persuade his club to release him.

As a reminder, Lionel Messi has already participated in the Olympic Games, in 2008, in Beijing. And La Pulga won gold alongside Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Mascherano.
