4 Champions League, 9 Spanish championship titles, gestures of crazy virtuosity and a unique class on and off the pitch: Andrés Iniesta leaves an enormous legacy in the world of football.

The 2010 world champion ended his first life as a professional footballer.

A career that the attacking midfielder will have led for the vast majority within his favorite club, FC Barcelona. Iniesta had the chance to meet a certain Lionel Messi there. The latter wanted to pay him a vibrant tribute on social networks.

Messi’s sublime tribute

Admiring his former teammate, Leo Messi did not beat around the bush to qualify Iniesta. “One of the teammates with the most magic. He is one of those I enjoyed playing with the most. Andrés Iniesta, football will miss you and so will we! I always wish you the best, you are a phenomenon”wrote the Argentine world champion in an Instagram story.
