Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has agreed a new deal at the club ahead of their visit to the Tottenham Stadium.

The Spaniard’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season but the Gunners have now tied him to a long term contract.

According to The Athletic, the Premier League giants have agreed a new deal with their manager, that will keep Arteta at the club until 2027.

The Arsenal manager has done a brilliant job at the club since taking charge in a state of crisis.

In the last two seasons, the Gunners have challenged Manchester City for the Premier League title.

The north Londoners have lost out on both occasions against Pep Guardiola’s men but their progress has been impressive and deserves praise.

Arteta joined the club from Man City, where he was the assistant manager of Guardiola and contributed to their success in the Premier League.

The Spaniard is now hoping to beat his former club to the league title and end Arsenal’s wait of more than twenty years without a Premier League trophy.

The 42-year-old manager won the FA Cup in his first season at the club but since that success, he is waiting for more silverware which has so far eluded him.

The manager has been able to improve the standards at the club with his competitive nature, innovative ideas and his clever recruitment.

Arteta has built a young squad at the Emirates Stadium which is expected to compete for silverware in the years to come.
