Mikel Arteta has confirmed new Arsenal signing Mikel Merino has suffered a potential fracture in his arm.
The Spain international’s eagerly anticipated move from Real Sociedad was completed earlier this week and it was hoped that the midfielder would be in line to make his debut against Brighton on Saturday.
Merino now, however, appears set for a few weeks on the sidelines after he was injured in a collision with his new teammate Gabriel Magalhaes during his first training session with the Gunners.
