Miley Cyrus is addressing one of her controversial performances. In a new interview with sister Brandi Cyrus for Spotify’s Billions Club series, the 32-year-old “Flowers” singer looked back at her controversial performance at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards where she danced around a metal pole attached to an ice cream cart while performing “Party in the U.S.A.” when she was 16. When Brandi, 37, guessed that it was their mom Tish Cyrus, Miley responded, “Yup, that was my mom’s idea. So she always lets me take the blame.” “When I got in trouble the next day, you know who was nowhere to be found? Tish Cyrus,” Miley added. She then went on to share why the performance was so memorable for her. “The thing that I remember most about that performance was it was the first time I ever wore real diamond jewelry on stage,” Miley revealed.
