Mining: Kano assures investors of safety

Investor, who are ready to partner with the Kano State Government in mining activities have been assured of their safety and protection, while in the state.

The state Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Safiyanu Kachako, made the disclosure on Wednesday, while receiving the Managing Director of a mining firm, Zarthwish Company, Mr. Alex Zhang.l in his office.

In a press statement, the Director Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Adamu Dabo, quoted the commissioner as saying, “both foreign nationals and Nigerians seeking to collaborate with the state government to establish mining factories within the state would surely have a safe environment to operate.”

He reiterated  his commitment to “ensure an everlasting  and sound harmonious working relationship with such Investors toward providing employment opportunities, as well as enhance state internal revenue, community development and safeguarding the environment from destruction as a result of the factories activities.”

Responding, the Managing Director of Zarthwish Company, Zhang, who is a Chinese expressed appreciation  for the warm reception accorded him by the commissioner.

“I’m satisfied with the abundance of deposits of different solid minerals in Kano considering the variety of the laboratory analysed samples displayed by the Commissioner and Director Solid Minerals Exploration, Alhaji Muhammad Bala during the interactive meeting” he said.

Zhang pledged to “study the offer by the Commissioner carefully and analyse which area of mining activity,” his company will collaborate with Kano State Government to achieve the target goals.
